Privacy Notice
SplatDrop is an independent image to 3D Gaussian Splat product, built on the open-source TripoSplat model. It is not operated by or affiliated with VAST-AI / TripoAI.
What we collect
When you convert an image, we collect the email address you enter, the conversion timestamp, and basic conversion metadata such as Gaussian count and seed when fal.ai returns it. We also collect aggregate usage analytics, such as page views and clicked links.
During our current validation phase we additionally collect: your answer to the "What will you use this 3D file for?" question, clicks on upcoming-feature options (such as Pro unlock or other export formats), the email address you optionally leave to be notified about those features, and the campaign link parameters (UTM) that brought you to the site. These records are stored first-party in Upstash Redis for up to 90 days and are used only to decide which features to build and to notify you when they launch. They are never sold and never sent to third-party analytics services.
How your image is processed
Your uploaded image is sent from this site to fal.ai so TripoSplat can process it. TripoSplat is provided by VAST-AI / TripoAI through fal.ai. This site never stores your original image after the request is handled. fal.ai retains request data — including the uploaded image — for up to 30 days under its standard data retention policy, and fal.ai / Tripo may process the image under their own terms.
Why we collect email
Email is required to control conversion quota, reduce anonymous cost abuse, contact you about the conversion tool, and invite you if more conversion capacity becomes available. We may also send occasional TripoSplat or image-to-3D product updates.
Who processes it
- Conversion records: email, quota counters, request metadata, and waitlist records are stored in Upstash Redis by the site's Vercel API routes.
- Image processing: uploaded images are sent to fal.ai / TripoSplat for conversion.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Plausible Analytics process visit and click data.
Retention and your choices
We keep email records until you ask us to remove them or unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, opt out, or request deletion, reply to an update email or contact us at the address below.
Licensing and attribution
The TripoSplat model code and weights are published by VAST-AI Research under the MIT license; see the official GitHub repository. Generated outputs, model weights, fal.ai terms, and third-party viewers may have their own terms.
